A rare moment of self confidence (mainly, a presumption that we, even remotely, knew how to play our instruments) led us into the arms and studio of the incomparable Adrian Younge one late November morning. Adrian was immaculately professional and deftly proficient. We knew within minutes that we were fucked. What came out of that day were 16 tracks recorded directly to tape, which we would build up and burn down every night for a year and half. The final product is a mere suggestion of the electrons originally arranged on those 2 inch reels, the likes of which modestly lived out their lives as a substrate that we, unforgivingly, laid our Pure Moods new age program onto.
